And You Thought Her A** Was Big Before…

Poor taste sign of the times?

The ultimate sex doll?

Another indication of how commercialized Times Square has become?

What should we make of the 60-foot Kim Kardashian float currently taking up space in Times Square?

The picture above is of a new advertisement for K.K.’s SKIMS Swim line.  As the lady herself declared “OMG… I cannot believe there is a 60-foot float of me in SKIMS Swim in the middle of Times Square,”…although, she has to believe it, seeing as she is the head of the SKIMS shapewear line and had to allow for, if not all together spearheaded this balloon campaign. Kim posed for a picture for her latest campaign, wearing a blue bikini, the very same her balloon likeness is wearing currently as it lies on its side in the middle of one of the most iconic spots in the world.

The installation/ad was exec produced by Amy Kule of the Merry Wonderer company. Kule has spent two decades leading the production of the Macy’s Thanksgiving Day Parade, so when it comes to oversized balloons of cartoon figures, she is your go-to designer.

We have already seen Kim K. ‘break the net’ way back when showing off her famous backside in Paper Magazine. Will she ‘break’ the public’s tolerance with her big bad balloon lying there in the middle of Times Square? Or shall we all once again just put this display down to how ‘oversized’ statements are seeming de rigueur in the current culture. And simply be surprised that someone hasn’t attempted this kind of display before.

Well, in a way, lots have. Maybe not so big and brash, but plenty celebrities have attempted and continue to attempt ‘stunts,’ some masked as advertisements, or just brazen attempts at attention (think Ye-who-was Kanye and his wife Bianca Censori and all their recent sad wackiness).

In an age of ‘since we can, we should,’ and given her sky-high profile, pretty much anything a Kim Kardashian attempts will make news. So here she is bigger than ever before.

Take the kids, it’s well worth a selfie.
