And you thought the Chinese balloon story was big news…
Rumors began flying once again last month that our very own pride and joy, Nicole “Snooki” Polizzi, would be joining the cast of The Real Housewives of New Jersey. But it seems now all bets are off.
If you have been following the story (and really, how could you not?), the real rumor (or as real as a rumor can get) started Labor Day Weekend 2022, when Snooki posted that she was in Barnegat Bay, while fans knew that NJ Housewives, Teresa “table-flip” Giudice, Dolores Catania, and Jennifer Aydin were there too.
Snookie is also supposedly friends with New Jersey Housewife Melissa “on again/off again-friend/family-with-Teresa,” Gorga, and somewhere along the line, Melissa pitched Snookie to show producer Andy Cohen. Melissa explained her reasoning: “Whenever I would go to him and be like, ‘Hello! She’s married now; she has three kids, she lives around the block. She’s great for this.” Although she did admit that Bravo host, producer, and Anderson Cooper-mate related a big old negatory to Melissa, as she reported, ‘No.’ He’s just not having it.”
Last month Mr. Cohen had, even more to say about this possible Snooki placement.
‘I don’t see it.’ Right. I was like, ‘I don’t see it at all. Ever….It’s like putting Mickey Mouse in a Bugs Bunny cartoon … It’s too different. You know what I mean?”
For her part, Snooki took Andy’s rejection like a trooper saying, “Nah, I’m good.”
For now, we get to keep Nicole Polizzi just where we have always liked her, as part of the cast of Jersey Shore Reunion, the updated version of Jersey Shore, which infamously invaded our homes from December 2009 to December 2012. Even the casual fan or outride critic will recall that between the beginning and now in what seems from a beast that will never die, the pop culture phenomenon spawned spin-offs like Snooki and her fellow cast mate Jenny “JWOW’s” show, a one-off television special, Reunion Road Trip: Return to the Jersey Shore in 2017 and now this most recent series that began April 5th, 2018.
And you thought herpes stuck around a long time.
