Did you feel the universe shift yesterday?
No, I’m not talking about the lunar landing or the sunspots. Trump trials, Biden competency hearings, migrant infiltration. Global warming, plastic bag concerns, long-COVID possibilities, or newly unearthed deadly vax after-effects. Transexuals in sports. Taylor Swift oversees. The price of eggs.
No, in this week’s episode of Jersey Shore: Family Vacation the ‘kids’ (all of them, including a returning Ronnie and Sammy) went back to the original Jersey Shore house in Seaside.
This surely had to have opened a rip in the time-space continuum.
I make no excuses for, nor do I mock J.S. I watched the show from its first run and am back watching it now, on a slightly irregular basis, in their new configuration as Jersey Shore: Family Vacation. I love these wacky kids. I love how they have grown in some ways, but not in many others, just like I have and haven’t from the first season of this show to now. And I love how they bring Jersey with them wherever they go.
Surely, being parents as some of them are, ex-convicts and addicts, some of the cast could probably be slightly more prudent with their words, deeds and social-media-ing. But they are who they are, and we love them for it. And, let’s face it, MTV would not have brought this cast back, not for a season 3 in this new form, if somebody wasn’t watching.
So, hold on tight to your reality, the cast of Jersey Shore is here to take a great big bite out of it.
And I love them for.
