Guitarist James Popik brings a unique touch and repertoire to his music. From Acoustic Jazz to electrified Fusion Jams, classical Brazilian music and American songbook master’s to reworked rock anthems, James has forged a unique voice. Opening for Los Lonely Boys, Dave Mason, Marshall Tucker, Butch Trucks, as well as backing jazz legend Richie Cole (Doc Severinson, Buddy Rich, Lionel Hampton), appearing with Rock & Roll Hall of Famer Bernie Worrell (Parliament, Talking Heads), and Henry McCullogh (Wings, Joe Cocker).
His latest release has been 7 years in the making and is titled The Sourland Symphony which is an album of Instrumental Acoustic Music inspired by and dedicated to the Sourland Mountain featuring Violin, Cello, Double Bass, Bouzouki, Mandolin, 6 and 10 string acoustic guitars, and percussion. It includes tracks like Green Mountain Melting, Headwaters, and West Mountain.

At last check Jim has logged in over 2500 gigs in the last few years in over 200 different venues from Maine to New Orleans including a stop at The White House in DC, as well as being an active member of the Sourland Conservancy where he is the principal curator and promoter of the Sourland Mountain Festival.
