Refestramus to Make European Debut at HRH Prog 15 Festival

Spread the love

Refestramus, the genre-bending progressive rock band known for quirky storytelling and vintage flair, will make their first-ever European live appearance this November at the HRH Prog 15 Festival, running November 13–16, 2025, in Great Yarmouth, UK. Refestramus performs on November 14. “We’re sharing the stage with prog legends,” enthuses band leader Derek Ferguson.”I love Focus, and was in awe of their yodeling rock classic ‘Hocus Pocus’. Curved Air were pioneers of violin-driven prog; their UK Top 5 hit, ‘Back Street Luv’. It’s heartwarming to see how long their iconic vocalist Sonja Kristina has run this band. I’m looking forward to seeing them and playing this festival.”

The band’s live lineup is led by founder Derek Ferguson (drums), joined by Jan Christiana (lead vocals, bass) and Dyanne Potter Voegtlin (vocals, piano, keyboards) of Octarine Sky. At the HRH Prog 15 Festival, they will be joined by special guest David Jackson (Van der Graaf Generator) for his performance of “Hell or NYC?”, reprising his role from Refestramus’ upcoming album “Morri’s Rock Boutique“.

Morri’s Rock Boutique” will be Refestramus’ third album, and it features bandmates Jan and Dyanne alongside special guests David Jackson (Van der Graaf Generator), Rick Witkowski (Crack the Sky), Joe Deninzon (Kansas, Stratospheerius), and Lynx (Old Blood). In a recent interview, Drum Talk TV host Dan Schinder praised Refestramus for a classic progressive flair reminiscent of Crack the Sky, underscoring the growing buzz around the band’s upcoming European debut.

The album’s first single, “Lakeview Samurai”, will be released on November 13 with a video directed by acclaimed Russian music video director Anna Fokina to coincide with the start of the festival. The album was co-produced, mastered and engineered by long-time “Refestramarian” Ian Beabout (host of the podcast, Prog Rock Deep Cuts).

About Refestramus:
Founded during the COVID-19 lockdown in 2020 by drummer/songwriter Derek Ferguson, Refestramus evolved from a home-studio project into an internationally recognized prog act. Their releases include “Decoupage” (2021), “From the Sublime to the Ridiculous” (2022), and the critically acclaimed “Intourist” (2024).

ProgUK described Intourist as “a home-cooked slice of melody-rich prog… pure ’70s retro pastiche, and the smile on its face is infectious.” ProgRock Journal called it “a recommended listen for lovers of modern progressive music with strong keyboard work, dynamic vocals, and elaborate rhythm sections.”
