It seems Ms. Spears has taken her knife dancing to other shores as her Instagram account was suddenly suspended yesterday. I, on the other hand, just made the massive social media posting portal.
Let me explain…
I write for a few websites other than this one. In fact, in some cases, this is where I make a good part of my meager living; penning blogs, interviews, press releases, articles, webcopy for websites. But other than what my intrepid partner here at FU manages, I don’t truck with social media. This is just the way I have always kept it and will keep on keeping it. Plus, I’m an old guy, nobody needs my rants and ramblings beyond what I do here (if anybody even really needs them at all) or for this or that client.
But yesterday I learned that through one of the other websites I write for, specifically VintageRock.com, a quote was lifted from a review I did there (https://vintagerock.com/joe-deninzon-stratospheerius-imposter-new-studio-release-review/) and placed on the Instagram account of the music venue in New York State, darylshouseclub for music act Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius. Joe and his band are playing the club tomorrow (Tickets for Joe Deninzon & Stratospheerius | TicketWeb – Daryl’s House in Pawling, US.)
In the poster that tops this blog you’ll see a quote from Vintage Rock “Entertaining and Insightful” this was pulled from a review I did for the movie Can’t Stand Losing You Surviving The Police, again, on Vintage Rock.
So, even not wanting to, lots of what I do falls into the swamp (oh sorry, did I say swamp?) of social media, as lots of what I post on lots of sites gets posted on various portals (I know Vintage Rock uses Facebook quite a bit, as one example). So, look at yours’ truly, beating old Britney Spears at this game.
