When I first read this bit of news over the weekend, I was as much taken aback as I began to chuckle. But then I thought: no matter who is the governor in New Jersey, we always seem to be in a dire situation, why not actually put Mike “The Situation” Sorrentino in charge if he actually wants to run for the job?
Mike from “Jersey Shore” told News 12 New Jersey this week, at a party for VUE Magazine, (he and his wife Lauren(s), and I add the ‘s’ because Mike does), are on the cover of the mag’s Spring issue, that he might think to run for NJ governor after he makes his Archangel addiction recovery facilities a ubiquitous presence across the landscape.
No, Mike did not use the word ubiquitous. But he did say “I’d like to save lives for the next three to five years with Archangel Centers. I’d like to have an Archangel Center in every [of the] 50 states. And after that, I’ll introduce to everybody Governor Situation.”
Mike co-founded Archangels, with the first one opening in Tinton Falls, fall of 2025, and a second location set to open in East Windsor. Future plans for the center are to open them in five more locations, growing beyond New Jersey, in such states as North Carolina, Florida and Nevada.
Mike surely had a situation (sorry, I can’t stop myself) with his own addictions, but enjoying sobriety now for a decade he has set out to help others beat their demons.
By now, you need to have been living under a rock if you don’t know what the Jersey Shore TV show is. And while this last season of the series, rebranded Jersey Shore: Family Vacation on its return a few years ago, will be leaving MTV after this season, the cast has hinted that the show might find a new home on a different network (although what else would the say?) But our wacky celebs born of creosote and from under the watchful eye of the Aztec Ocean Resort in Seaside, might be right as Paramount, which owns MTV, is in negotiations to potentially merge with Warner Bros. Discovery (see the Newsweek article about all this here).
More Jersey Shore, no matter what they title it or what network it comes to? And Mike as our governor?
Stay tuned my droogs, as we read well these portents of the apocalypse.
